Whether you’re a mom yourself or are looking for a way to celebrate the special mom in your life, here’s some ideas for spending Mother’s Day in our destination.
- Celebrate in a traditional way with Mother’s Day brunch at a Bloomington restaurant. Lela, Cedar + Stone, Urban Table, and Smack Shack have delicious brunch menus, and many local eateries will have their patios open for the season (view our list of Bloomington patios for some ideas).
- A more unique brunch option is at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Enjoy a special buffet meal, then see the spring blooms throughout the 1,200-acre public garden.
- Kick up your feet and see a chick flick (or action movie, you do you) in the comfortable reclining chairs at B&B Theatres Mall of America.
- Golfing isn’t just for Father’s Day! Dwan Golf Course in Bloomington is open to the public, and some of Minnesota’s most iconic courses are included on the Great Northern Golf Trail.

- Design your own jewelry at the Kendra Scott Color Bar! You can pick out your own bracelet, necklace, earrings, or ring style, then select the stone you’d like included.
- Follow the South Loop public art itinerary, a walking tour of the art in the neighborhood surrounding Mall of America. Some notable stops on the itinerary include the “Convergence” sculpture, the Wright’s Lake Park community mural, and the Confluence Gallery at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
