Many hotels offer special romance packages designed for your special weekend away. After you’re settled in, visit one of our favorite local restaurants for a romantic evening. Book a table at Ciao Bella or Lela and enjoy delicious Italian food. Kincaid’s and Hazelwood Food and Drink also offer upscale dining and a cozy ambiance.
Day 2
Today, you and your sweetheart will be exploring Bloomington’s star attraction: Mall of America! Hop in the car or take the complimentary shuttle (availability varies by hotel) from your hotel to MOA and get ready for shopping, dining, and fun. You’ll kick things off by checking out some of the Mall’s 520+ stores, which sell everything from electronics to handbags and everything in between. Take turns choosing which store to shop at next, and make sure you have your Mall of America coupon book handy – it includes over $2000 worth of discounts. Plus, there’s no sales tax on clothing and shoes in the state of Minnesota!
Give your feet a rest over lunch at one of the Mall’s 50+ restaurants. Since there’s so many options, the two of you should have no issue with finding something you both agree on! Culinary on North in MOA’s new north expansion includes over a dozen fast casual options, and favorites like Sugar Factory, Twin City Grill, and Wahlburgers offer table service if you’d like something more substantial for lunch.
Now that you’re rested up, it’s time for a little immersive adventure. Head to The Escape Game, located on Level 3, and choose from 5 exciting themes. You'll have 60 minutes to crack codes, uncover clues, solve puzzles and complete a mission. Next, visit one of Mall of America’s two mini-golf courses, Moose Mountain and Rock of Ages, and face off against your S.O. If you really want to hit the links, you can even buy a ticket bundle and golf at both courses! Wrap up the afternoon by riding a few roller coasters at Nickelodeon Universe®, taking flight at FlyOver America, or exploring mind-bending exhibits at Museum of Illusions.
Spend your evening at Mall of America relaxing and take in a show at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy. At House of Comedy, national headliners and emerging comedic talents entertain crowds with their stand-up performances. The comedy club also offers a complete dinner menu and full bar.
Day 3
Your final morning in Bloomington will take place outdoors, where you can reconnect and enjoy the beauty of nature. Over 1/3 of Bloomington is made up of parks and green space, so there’s plenty of spots to choose from where you can go for a hike or bike ride. On Bloomington’s west side, visit Richardson Nature Center inside Hyland Lake Park Reserve and experience a peaceful retreat and many miles of trails. If you need equipment like walking poles or snowshoes, stop inside the nature center building for low-cost rental. Near Mall of America, the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge has scenic views, paved and dirt paths, and plenty of opportunities for spotting animals and plants. To blend arts and culture in with your day of nature, check out the South Loop Public Art Itinerary – it lists out the sculptures, murals, and other forms of art in the area around Mall of America.
After you’ve wrapped up your outdoor adventure, it’s time to pack up the car and head back home. Hopefully you’ll feel rejuvenated and relaxed after a wonderful weekend of spending time with your partner!
